Wolves can now relax because the Molineux star has been “crossed off” of their transfer wish list…

During the course of the summer transfer window, Wolverhampton Wanderers had to deal with the interest of Napoli in Max Kilman.

The centre-back was seen as the ideal replacement for Kim Min-jae, who eventually signed for Bayern Munich, but Wolves stood firm, rejected a £20 million offer and refused to settle for anything less than £25 million.

The Naples side never returned with a better, more serious offer, and they won’t be doing so if Il Mattino, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb on Wednesday, is to be believed.

Max Kilman's new contract gives Wolves boost after weeks of chaos

The article revolves around their need to improve the heart of their defence as the signing of Natan hasn’t brought the stability they were hoping for, with names such as Jakub Kiwior and Jerome Boateng being mentioned.

Regarding the Wolves star, however, they explain that while there are’several names’ on the list of targets for the Serie A side, that of Kilman ‘has been crossed off’.

Therefore, they will not be knocking on the door at Molineux anytime soon with a new offer, clearly feeling the 26-year-old is now out of reach after he signed a contract extension until 2028.
