Leeds United Confirm Another signing

Karl Darlow is set to complete a medical at Leeds United today as he completes his move from Newcastle United, sources have told Football Insider.

The Yorkshire club hope to announce the transfer tonight after finalising the paperwork for the 32-year-old’s move to Elland Road.

Football Insider revealed on Thursday (27 July) that Darlow is expected to sign a three-year deal with Leeds.

Darlow is set to become Leeds’ second major signing of the summer after the Whites signed Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea earlier this month.

The experienced goalkeeper will join up with Daniel Farke’s squad ahead of their friendly fixture against Hearts at Tynecastle Stadium on Sunday.

Darlow has spent the past nine years of his career at Newcastle United, although the majority of his time at St James’ Park has been as a backup goalkeeper.

He spent the second half of the 2022/23 season out on loan at Hull City after failing to challenge Nick Pope for the number-one spot at Newcastle.

Darlow made 12 appearances for the Tigers, conceding 14 goals and keeping five clean sheets as the Championship side secured a 15th-placed finish in the league table.
During his nine years in Tyneside, Darlow made 100 appearances for the Magpies, keeping 25 clean sheets for the side.
