Carlos Corberan Reviews Intentions On West Brom Star

Carlos Corberan has been impressed with what he’s seen from West Brom’s youngster’s in pre-season.

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan seems prepared to give youth a chance this season. The club’s financial situation is hampering them in the transfer market this summer, but a silver lining may yet come from an internal solution, via the Midlands outfit’s academy prospects.

Corberan certainly believes that a number of the young talents on the books at the Hawthorns have what it takes to make the grade. Discussing the youngsters at his disposal, the manager said, “they are the future of the club.” He also hopes that these raw talents can help to offset the club’s restricted spending power. He continues, “when you have a good structure in the academy, before you look out, you have to look down…an academy player can change a season into something you didn’t expect and move you in a positive direction. The work the academy does is very important,” as quoted by Birmingham Live.

West Brom’s stars of the future
A number of the most promising youngsters at the club were working with the first team last season, and look set for further involvement this time around. Jovan Malcolm, Alex Palmer, Jamie Andrews, and Taylor Gardner-Hickman will be keen to build on their experience.

Meanwhile, teenage midfield duo Harry Whitwell and Kevin Mfuamba, 17 and 16-years-old respectively, will be handed a chance to impress Corberan further as the pre-season period progresses.

Albion fans will be hoping that a few of these youngsters can make the grade and help West Brom towards promotion contention in the forthcoming campaigns.
