Report: If Cooper is fired, Nottingham Forest want a 49-year-old Europa League champion.

According to one journalist, Oliver Glasner is the frontrunner to succeed Steve Cooper at Nottingham Forest.

The heat on the head coach has increased following a second consecutive home defeat, this time to Everton on Saturday.

Before the game, all the focus was on Forest manager Cooper and the pressure he was under.

Last week, it was rumored that he had come under fire, yet it was also stated that things were calm behind the scenes.

Forest desires Glasner.
According to European football journalist Johnny Georgeopoulos, if Cooper quits, Forest will make Glasner their top choice to fill the position.
Marinakis is not regarded as being close to committing suicide. However, with trips to Fulham and Wolves on the horizon, the decision could become an easy one.
Cooper has been in charge at Forest for over two years now. He joined when the club was at the bottom of the championship, and they’ve been on an upward trajectory ever since.

Who is Oliver Glasner?

He’s an Austrian football manager and one who would come with a reputation as being a respected head coach.

The 49-year-old began his coaching career with RB Salzburg, where he was the assistant manager for two years.

His first management gig came in caretaker charge of FC Liefering, but he oversaw just a single match.

His first actual role came at SV Ried before he moved to LASK in 2015, initially as a Director of Football.

He then got a crack in Germany with Wolfsburg before joining Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021.

Forest-linked Glasner enjoyed his finest spell in management there, helping them win the Europa League and beat Rangers in the final.

Glasner is likely to be keen to get back into work, but now Forest fans must wait to see what happens with Cooper in the short term.
