Nathan Collins and others react to brilliant news coming out of Wolves today
Defender Hugo Bueno has today signed a new contract with Wolves, following a fantastic past year at the club.
The club announced earlier today that the Spaniard has penned fresh terms at Molineux, with his new deal taking him up to the summer of 2028.
It is a deserved reward for Bueno, who made his first-team debut for Wolves last season under interim manager Steve Davis. The youngster came on for the closing stages in the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest and then days later, he started against Crystal Palace.
Although Wolves lost to the Eagles, Bueno wowed at Selhurst Park and provided a brilliant assist for Adama Traore.
Bueno would then keep his place in the starting XI, with Julen Lopetegui really taking a shine to him.
This term, Bueno hasn’t featured much because of the form of Rayan Ait-Nouri and also a recent injury. But Wolves have moved to get him tied down to the delight of many fans – and also some players on social media.

He wrote: “Delighted to sign a new deal with this amazing club, the hard work continues.”
Hard graft is certainly something Bueno is all about, with U21s manager James Collins saying earlier this year that the youngster’s work ethic had helped him to become a Premier League left-back. Collins said that he did not expect Bueno to make that step so early.
Bueno is a very popular character at Molineux, and this is reflected in the responses he got on his latest social media post.

Nathan Collins, who left Wolves in the summer to join Brentford, was on hand to react to his old teammate’s proud moment, writing ‘Congrats bro’.
Max Kilman, Dan Bentley, Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera – currently on loan at FC Cincinnati – and others also expressed their delight for Bueno.
Great news coming out of Molineux
This is now the second contract extension Bueno has had since making his first-team debut, with the first coming in November 2022. This, after Bueno had scooped the club’s October Player of the Month award.
It just shows how pleased the club are with what he’s done in the last year, and how highly they rate him.
He hasn’t been able to feature too much so far this season but his time will come again. Ait-Nouri has the shirt at the moment, but Bueno has shown his quality at Premier League level.
He’ll be itching to get back playing again to show just why it is Wolves have handed him another new contract.
Hopefully that can happen fairly soon, because he’s genuinely a really exciting talent, and someone Dave Edwards believes can go on to become one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.
