Latest Brighton injury news: ‘Incredible’ Brighton player set to miss trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

On Saturday, Nottingham Forest are unlikely to face Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma. The talented winger is expected to miss the trip to the East Midlands due to injury.

The Reds will be looking to get back on track this weekend. Prior to the international break, Forest were defeated 3-2 by West Ham in a game they should have won.

When domestic football returns, Forest will attempt to replicate their performance against Brighton last season. During the 2022–23 season, the Reds defeated the Seagulls 3-1 to enhance their Premier League survival chances.

This weekend, Forest is unlikely to encounter Mitoma.

The Japanese star appears to be skipping the trip to City Ground.
Athletic reporter Andy Naylor has taken to X to confirm that Mitoma is currently struggling with an injury.

The tricky winger is integral to Brighton, and last season he was a constant menace to the Reds on Trentside when the teams last met. He’s scored three times and claimed four assists during the current campaign, and he’s in good form.

Forest will have to focus on their own game plan this weekend. However, the challenge of claiming a big three points is helped by the fact that Brighton are now missing Mitoma.

Brighton will still be dangerous against Forest

Although the seagulls aren’t in great form ahead of their trip to Forest, they will still pose a threat. The squad will be missing some good players, but Roberto De Zerbi’s squad is brimming with talent.

Mitoma is arguably the pick of the bunch, however. Jermain Defoe called him ‘incredible’ last season and it’s quite clear that Steve Cooper will fancy his chances with the Japanese star out.

Forests have to focus, however. They can’t do too much about the opposition, and instead, they have to work hard to try and gazump another Europa League team this weekend.
