The Bantams have had a difficult start to the season, and they have decided to bring in Graham Alexander in place of Mark Hughes.
Changes have also been made further down the club’s ranks, and Redfearn has arrived as a development coach to work with their Under-19s.
Redfearn stated that he has fond memories of Bradford from his time as a player and stressed that the Yorkshire outfit has a fantastic fanbase.
He pointed out that Bradford are looking to get back to their glory days and feels he could have a role to play in helping to develop their future stars.
“I played for the club in the Premier League years, and it was a great time for Bradford City”, Redfearn said on BBC West Yorkshire Sports Daily.
“That seems like a lifetime ago—23 years, but fond memories, a great set of players, fantastic supporters, a full Valley Parade, and [huge support] every time we traveled away.
“It is a club that wants to get back to that successful way of being a football club.
“Obviously, bringing young players through and creating assets for the club and trying to get them in and around the first team is obviously key to the club as well.
“I am looking forward to being part of that.”
Bradford are currently 18th in the League Two table, and they are set to take on Notts County on Saturday at Meadow Lane.
