The Rarely-seen Nottingham Forest 25y/o star makes first appearance for 18 months out on loan…

Nottingham Forest defender Omar Richards, who faced a challenging 18 months of injury setbacks, has recently marked his return to competitive play. The 25-year-old, currently on loan with Olympiacos, endured fractures and a hernia operation after joining Forest in the summer of 2022 for £8.5 million.

Initially expected to vie for a spot in the starting lineup, Richards’ recovery journey led him to finally feature in a match for Olympiacos B-Team over the weekend, contributing to a 1-0 victory against Diagoras.

After playing for 45 minutes in his natural left-back role, Richards’ next challenge is to progress to the senior team and regain his peak form. Forest’s coaching staff will undoubtedly be pleased with this development, recognizing Richards’ potential, especially considering his previous stint with Bayern Munich.

While the future at Forest remains uncertain, the immediate focus for Richards is to maintain fitness and gain valuable playing time with Olympiacos.
