JUST IN: William Storey breaks his silence on the FC takeover situation.

William Storey’s withdrawal from the battle to purchase Reading represents the most recent development in the continuing takeover saga surrounding their team, as supporters have witnessed.
Right now, the Royals’ situation appears to be quite bad both on and off the field.

They currently appear to be in the midst of a campaign to stave off another relegation, this time from Sky Bet League One to Sky Bet League Two. Off the field, however, they may have even greater worries because the club’s entire future appears to be in jeopardy.

Supporters want Dai Yongge to resign, but it’s unclear who will take his place.

It appears that William Storey has withdrawn from the race.

William Storey withdraws from the talks to take over reading.

The CEO of Rich Energy stated on Twitter:

“We started a due diligence phase in October after concluding a contract and exclusivity. According to our accountants’ report, I’ve decided not to move forward with my investors. I hope the club and its devoted supporters find a long-term partner who will make the necessary investments to ensure their prosperity.”
That knocks that name out of the running, yet this news may come as a relief to Reading supporters.
