Defender signs semi-professional deal ahead of Genero Adran Premier season
Wrexham AFC Women are delighted to announce the signing of Ex-Aston Villa and West Brom defender Keren Allen.
Allen, 25, joins the Club after earning three back-to-back-to-back promotions with her most recent Club Stourbridge FC.
She spent most of her footballing journey with the Baggies, giving her valuable experience before moving to Aston Villa.
As well as her League achievements, the defender has also notched up international experience, representing England Schoolgirls and Wales Universities.
And on signing a semi-professional contract, ahead of the Genero Adran Premier campaign, she said: “I’m really pleased to join the Football Club, and it’s something I’ve been working towards.”
“The Club is on the up, and it’s an exciting time to be at Wrexham and hopefully I can help us push on in the Genero Adran Premier.”
The defender joins the Club on the back of a record-breaking title-winning season, which sees the Club move into the Premier Division.
Despite winning every game in the Genero Adran North, it all came down to a nail-biting play-off final against Briton Ferry, which saw Rebecca Pritchard score the winning goal to clinch promotion.
Allen is now the second signing of the summer and speaking on the deal, Wrexham AFC Women Manager Steve Dale said: “I am delighted, the moment Keren expressed her interest in coming to Wrexham we wanted to make it work.
“The quality and experience she’s got from the higher levels will complement the team, so it was a no-brainer to bring her in.”
