Huddersfield Town Injury updates ahead of QPR clash As 2 Key Main Players’ Chances Assessed

Danny Ward, a striker, and David Kasumu, a midfielder, are anticipated to remain out for the Terriers, while Pat Jones has a new problem and Josh Ruffels is uncertain.

Both David Kasumu and Danny Ward are nearing the end of their individual recovery processes from injuries and have made “excellent” progress thus far; nevertheless, neither is likely to be fully recovered in time for the Terriers’ match against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Striker Ward has not played for Huddersfield Town since before the last international break, with his last

appearance occurred on September 2 during the victory away to West Bromwich Albion. Ward had been playing with the agony of a sore Achilles tendon for several games prior to last month, but then-manager Neil Warnock admitted that it had gotten to be too much for him to continue pushing through, leaving Ward out for the last six games.

That means that Darren Moore, the team’s new manager, has yet to see him play. Moore said after Town’s most recent match, a scoreless draw with Sheffield Wednesday, that having Ward back would be a “wonderful addition.” But it now appears that the wait for his services will continue.

Kasumu missed the start of the season with an ankle injury he sustained from being kicked in Town’s final pre-season friendly of the summer and had only recently returned last month when he was forced off with a hamstring injury in the first half of the 2-2 draw with Stoke City.

The midfielder has a history of hamstring problems, having dealt with them frequently when playing for his old side Milton Keynes Dons, although last season he was generally injury-free until experiencing another recurrence in his debut game for the team.

Since being forced off against Stoke last month, Josh Ruffels has been dealing with groin pain. He was unable to travel to Coventry City and had to leave the game early against Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday. Ruffel’s chances of playing against QPR, according to Moore, are 50/50.

Winger Pat Jones picked up a muscle injury while away on international duty with Wales under-21s and is out of contention to play this weekend.

Meanwhile, Ollie Turton, who sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February, made a huge progress this week in his recuperation by kicking a ball for the first time since the injury. Around the start of the new year, the right-back hopes to resume competitive play.
