DONE DEAL: Newcastle agree Daka deal as another under-the-radar partnership goes public

Newcastle continue to strike deals off the pitch, with the club securing a new licensing partnership with Daka; a Chinese trading card company who work with Barcelona, Man City and Borussia Dortmund.

Mark Douglas at iNews reveals that the under-the-radar deal was secured last week to help boost our profile in China, with this coming before Saudia were named our official airlines partner in a ‘multi-year’ move worth £3m per season.

It’s not stated how much we’ll earn from Daka, but it’s clear the club are looking to boost commercial revenues, with Sela (front of shirt sponsor), Noon (sleeve sponsor) and Adidas (new kit manufacturer from 2024/25 onwards) all helping us boost income and our ongoing battle against FFP restrictions.

The i also report that we’re still exploring training kit and training ground sponsors, but naming rights around St James’ Park may prove controversial.

It could offer huge financial benefits, with Man City (‘The Etihad’) and Arsenal (‘The Emirates’) two ‘big six’ rivals who’ve gone down this route, but may only be sanctioned if supporters were in favour of such a move.
