Bristol City’s Talisman Is Ruled Out Due To Injury As Coach Gives Updates On His Return

The talisman of Bristol City will miss their encounter against Coventry City owing to an injury.

Coventry City news from CoventryLive as we review the Ashton Gate injury report for the opposition before Saturday’s match.

With the news that talismanic striker Nahki Wells is expected to miss the next few weeks due to an ankle injury sustained in the 2-1 loss against Leeds United prior to the international break, Coventry City’s next opponents, Bristol City, have suffered a setback.

When Wells departed the pitch in the 30th minute following a challenge by Leeds captain Pascal Struijk in which the defender unintentionally fell on the veteran forward’s ankle, there was cause for concern. The Bermudian required help from a physio both to exit the field and to navigate the Elland Road field on his way back to the dressing room.

After the game, Bristol manager Nigel Pearson acknowledged that the simple fact that Wells had to leave the field was cause for concern given the 33-year-old’s durability and persistence on frequently playing despite pain. Wells underwent a scan last week and was fitted with a protective boot for his rehabilitation. He will be evaluated again, but it is hoped that he will be out for several weeks.

When the Championship picks back up this weekend, he will likely miss the rest of the month because of matches against Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Cardiff City.
