Exclucive: West Ham to open new negotiations to prevent a fan favorite from quitting in January.

Sources: Soucek discussions will resume at West Ham since the agreement is in doubt.

Tomas Soucek’s contract negotiations with West Ham will pick up steam as Inter Milan is rumored to be interested, according to sources speaking with Football Insider.

The 28-year-old is a steadfast fan favorite and is still seen as a crucial player by David Moyes, thus it is thought that the Irons are eager to reach a deal.

His current West Ham contract expires at the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, though the London club has the option to extend it by an additional 12 months.

The international player from the Czech Republic is rumored to demand a bigger contract and will request to be paid on par with the rest of the team’s highest-paid players.

After just reaching a new, long-term agreement with Jarrod Bowen, the Irons will focus on extending Soucek’s contract.

He has been linked with Italian giants Inter Milan in recent days, putting West Ham in jeopardy.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that West Ham will have a decision to make in January if no progress can be made in discussions.

They could choose to cash in on Soucek if suitable offers arrive for his services, rather than let him run down his contract and leave for free.
But he continues to be a key player for Moyes’ side and has already made 10 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign, notching four goals and one assist.

The combative midfielder, who cost the Irons a reported total fee of £19million in 2020, has notched 26 goals and nine assists during his time at the London Stadium.
