£42000 per week Star,And £47.5m player react after news about Nottingham Forest player out on loan

Nottingham Forest-owned Lewis O’Brien has confirmed on Instagram that he’s undergone surgery on his ankle. Following his post, he’s been sent well wishes from Orel Mangala, Cheikhou Kouyate and Brennan Johnson.

This comes as a huge body blow to Forest midfielder O’Brien. He was just starting to get back to his very best level on loan at Middlesbrough, with Michael Carrick handing him regular football.

ow, he faces a spell on the sidelines after going under the knife. At this stage, it’s not clear exactly how long O’Brien will be missing and he will hope to get back as quickly as possible.

Forest-owned O’Brien confirms surgery on Instagram

O’Brien had been playing in an unfamiliar role for Middlesbrough since moving from Forest. Carrick had seen something in him to suggest that he could play in a left-sided wing-back role for his team.

The 24-year-old will now want to make up for lost time when he does get a chance to return to the pitch. After his surgery, he received some words of encouragement from Forest players of past and present.

Johnson moved to Tottenham for £47.5 million in the summer. He was the first to write on O’Brien’s post and he said, “Soon back brother”, also choosing to place a love heart being made out with two hands emoji.

Forest star Mangala was the next to wish O’Brien well. He simply said: “Get well soon my brother”. Kouyate wrote something similar, adding: “Speedy recovery my bro.”

O’Brien deserves sympathy

You’d have to be cold-hearted not to feel some sympathy for the midfielder. He was a regular in the team during the first half of last season and made 14 appearances for the Reds.

Steve Cooper decided to banish O’Brien from his 25-man Forest squad in January, however. He ended up kicking his heels on the fringes and joined D.C. United on loan.
He had hoped to rediscover himself with Boro this season. Now, he faces a wait to discover just how long he will be sidelined for. Indeed, Forest will hope that he can be back on the pitch soon too.

O’Brien cost Forest £10 million over 12 months ago. The player’s future might look bleak at the City Ground. However, they will fancy their chances of getting what they paid back for him should the time come to sell him in the future.
