Seb Hutchinson, a broadcaster for Sky Sports, yesterday praised Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest. After being used as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Brentford, the 23-year-old was superb.
The Reds player was surprisingly left out of the starting eleven for the Premier League clash. Steve Cooper cited that he perhaps needed a rest and chose not to go with him from the off.
Gibbs-White played a part in the build-up to Forest’s equalising goal scored by Nicolas Dominguez. He slipped the ball through to Harry Toffolo who teed up the Argentine midfielder.
Hutchinson raves about Forest star Gibbs-White
The likeable Sky Sports commentator has won over lots of Forest fans since they returned to the Premier League. He produced some brilliant commentary when the Reds played Southampton last season regarding Danilo.
It was the work rate of Gibbs-White that caught the eye yesterday. In the 88th minute, it looked as though a slick counterattack by Brentford was going to lead to a goal.
But Gibbs-White sprinted back and made a spectacular block by putting his body on the line. Hutchinson was really delighted with his celebration, which looked like he had just scored.
Oh yes, the challenge from Gibbs-White back there on the cover, he stated live on Sky Sports. He obviously simply adores representing Forest at the moment.
Gibbs-White shouldn’t miss games again
The Reds looked far more likely to score when Gibbs-White was introduced from the bench. Cooper cited that the player could do with a little break given his hectic summer.
Hopefully, the head coach will have learned yesterday that leaving Gibbs-White on the bench from the off isn’t ideal. Forest had a lot of the ball in the first half without really looking like creating a breakthrough.
That’s where Gibbs-White comes into things and he will hope to start more games from here. Cooper knows that he’s vital and the fans absolutely love him.
