NEILL COLLINS PLEASED WITH POTENTIAL YOUNG STAR PERFORMANCE AS HE SPEAK OUT

Neill Collins gave his reaction to iFollow Barnsley after the Reds eased to a 3-1 victory over Manchester City U21s at Oakwell in the EFL Trophy.

Headers by Conor McCarthy, Jon Russell and debutant Emmaisa Nzondo cancelled out Will Dickson’s close-range strike to make it back-to-back wins in Group F for the Reds.

 

Our Head Coach felt that the more experienced members of Tuesday night’s starting eleven really benefitted the junior players earning their stripes in a first-team match.

“Really important minutes for some players,” discussed our Head Coach. “I thought the more senior players were excellent tonight, they helped the younger players we had in the side. Then of course the younger players acquitted themselves so well. It was the team performance that got us the three points against a really good academy team.”
