Leicester City midfielder makes heartfelt speech about signing a new contract with his boyhood club.

After committing his long-term future to Leicester City, Hamza Choudhury is aiming for a quick return to the Premier League.

Choudhury has extended his deal with the Foxes by four years, taking it through the summer of 2027. After City’s shocking relegation from the Premier League last season, the midfielder will be aiming to contribute as City fight for promotion from the Championship this season under new head coach Enzo Maresca.

The 25-year-old played 37 times for Watford last season while on loan there as they finished 11th in the Championship. He is back at the club where he first played, and so far in 2023–24, he has appeared in seven different competitions.

In the league, he has made five appearances—four as a substitute and one as a starter—including the start of last week’s 2-0 victory at Norwich City. With Leicester leading the table on goal differential after their 1-0 victory over Bristol City on Saturday, and with seven victories and only one loss from their first eight games, there is competition for spots in Maresca’s midfield.

Choudhury is delighted to have agreed a new contract with City and is now looking to the future. He told LCFC.com: “It’s an amazing feeling for me and my family. This is my home.

“I’ve obviously spent the majority of my life here around the same people in the same environment. I’m looking forward to cracking on now and hopefully helping the team get back to the Premier League.

“It’s my home. To be staying here for another four years is exactly what I want.”
