Eddie Howe must make some changes to start 19-year-old youngstlet in Sunday clash

Newcastle United are still on a post-Champions League comedown but are back to Premier League business on Sunday as newbies Sheffield United come to St James’ Park.

After a grueling time away in Milan, Sunday’s visit of Premier League newcomers Sheffield United seems like a perfect opportunity for Eddie Howe to rest a couple of players for Newcastle.

One player who should definitely be rested is Dan Burn. He put in an admirable display against AC Milan on Tuesday night, but there were occasions where he was completely done for pace.

Burn is good but he lacks pace and it is starting to be an issue

That’s happened a few times in the Premier League so far this season too.

Burn isn’t exactly known for his pace at the best of times, but there have been moments this season where he looks a yard off the pace.

With Sheffield United still trying to get to grips with the Premier League surely Sunday is the perfect time to hand 18-year-old Lewis Hall his Newcastle debut.

Hall could really help Newcastle get at Sheffield United on Sunday

Hall has bags of pace and is very handy going forward too. That kind of energy and skill would be perfect for carving open a Sheffield United defence that could lack confidence.
I love Dan Burn and he has been ‘superb‘ for Newcastle as Andy Hinchcliffe alluded to, but some games call for a different skill-set to the one Burn possesses.

Matt Targett is probably more likely to be selected by Howe should he decide to rest Burn, but Newcastle fans are dying to see young Hall make his Newcastle bow after seeing what he’s capable of last season for Chelsea.
