QPR’s Prominent defender, has essentially been given the all-clear to play again.

Since dislocating his shoulder during a preseason friendly against Oxford United, Dunne has been out.

Gareth Ainsworth, the manager, said Dunne now appears likely to re-join the squad for Coventry’s visit on September 30. However, he would have likely been well enough to play if Rangers had need him to for this week’s matches against Swansea and Birmingham.

Since Dunne’s injury, Rangers have added Steve Cook and Morgan Fox to their center-back lineup, and Jake Clarke-Salter has entered the last two games as a substitute.

After Swansea on Tuesday, Ainsworth said: “Jimmy could well play in the next two of games.

Jimmy probably shouldn’t go out tomorrow night. He may be brought on if necessary, but I believe he is more focused on the Coventry game.

Dunne’s recuperation has gone more quickly than was initially anticipated; at one point, it was thought he may be out for three months.

“I have to say the medical staff have been unbelievable with him,” Ainsworth added.

They have increased his program without taking any risks while yet fitting a lot in.

“What they’ve done with Jimmy has been fantastic, and I can’t wait to get him back,” she said.

Jack Colback will miss Rangers’ next three games after he is suspended after receiving a red card against Sunderland on Saturday.
