Everton have offered midfielder Andre Gomes to Fenerbahce ahead of the transfer deadline in Turkey, according to Sozcu.
It seems like now, with two clubs keen on signing him ahead of the Turkish transfer deadline, things may progress quickly.
Both Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce will be fighting for European qualifications and perhaps even the league title.
The Turkish media outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (12 September) that if manager Ismail Kartal approves the deal then the 30-year-old will be contacted.
The Toffees are willing to part ways with the Portugal international ahead of the transfer deadline.
Makes sense
Sean Dyche clearly does not see the 30-year-old as part of his plans this season so it makes sense to make some money from his sale.
Managers often mention fringe players in press conferences, but there has been no word recently by Dyche about the Portuguese.
After these reports, there’s a chance that he’s asked about Gomes and he’s not expected to sugarcoat his response.
Gomes is 30 and he will be one of the better players in Turkey so Everton can demand a decent transfer fee for his services.
He spent last season on loan at Lille and proved that he can stay fit for the entirety of the campaign – a big deciding factor for clubs.
It remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed ahead of the deadline in Turkey.
