Player Evaluations For Huddersfield Town As Two Key Players Rated The Victory At West Brom

Huddersfield Town player ratings as Delano Burgzorg and Jack Rudoni deliver victory at West Brom

The Terriers took the lead in the first half only for Carlos Corberan’s Baggies to hit back after the break – but Rudoni earned Town a first win of the season in the 96th minute

Lee Nicholls – Didn’t have anything enormously difficult to deal with but did his job well whenever called upon. 6

Matty Pearson – Became more and more important as the game wore on and did his job well. 7

Michal Helik – Look much more like his usual commanding self having quietly been slightly short of that over the opening weeks of the season. 8

Josh Ruffels – Started on the left of the back three as Neil Warnock changed shape and continued his excellent start to the season with a dominant display. Played some nice balls in behind, too. 8

West Brom vs Huddersfield Town as it happened

David Kasumu – A surprise selection both in making his return from injury and in being picked at right wing-back. Put some dangerous balls into the box, including the one that led to the opening goal. Had mixed fortunes with his defensive work at times but grew into the game more as it went on. 7

Jack Rudoni – Volleyed Kasumu’s cross into the back of the net early on only for it to be disallowed for a Helik foul just before he hit it – a shame, as it was a great finish. Won the game late in injury time with a composed finish. 8

Jonathan Hogg – Mopped up every second ball and was the deep-lying architect of much of Town’s work in attack. Really really good outing. 9

Ben Wiles – Constantly in motion trying to find space, making some great runs, and showed good commitment off the ball. Looks a very promising summer pick-up. 7

Huddersfield Town transfer news: Terriers complete loan move for Mainz striker Delano Burgzorg - who will bring 'X Factor' to Championship club

Jaheim Headley – Seemed a tad over-cautious about imposing himself at times, perhaps mindful of having been sent off in his last outing. Had very some bright moments but not quite able to find that final ball. 6

Danny Ward – Looked somewhat happier playing with a striker partner and able to get into some more promising positions, but not apply the final touch. 6

Delano Burgzorg – Claimed his first goal for the club on his full debut, finishing well after chesting down a headed clearance. So hard to get off the ball. 7
