Penn State Basketball Finally Lands Its First Transfer Addition Of The season
Penn State’s Abdul Carter is attending the NFL draft. Will he go No. 1?
Penn State star Abdul Carter is arguably the top prospect in the 2025 NFL draft. And whenever he’s drafted — potentially No. 1 overall — he’ll walk across the stage, shake commissioner Roger Goodell’s hand and bask in the moment so many players dream of.
Carter will officially attend the 2025 NFL draft, which will be hosted by the Green Bay Packers outside of Lambeau Field in Wisconsin on April 24.
Carter was one of 17 attendees that were announced by the NFL on Monday night.
“I always wanted to walk that stage,” Carter said at Penn State’s pro day last month. “It’s been a dream of mine. So just to be able to walk that stage, shake the commissioner’s hand, hold up the jersey: That’s been a dream for me.”
Carter has long believed that he should be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. He’s said it. He’s tweeted about it. And he’s not necessarily wrong. The standout edge rusher is considered by many to be the top player available.
Carter likely won’t go No. 1 overall. The Tennessee Titans hold the top pick, and all signs point to the quarterback-needy franchise eyeing Miami signal-caller Cam Ward.
But even if he doesn’t, Carter is expected to land with either the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants or New England Patriots within the first four picks.
“Everything happens for a reason,” Carter added. “If I don’t go number one, it wasn’t meant to be. But I’m also going to have that motivation. So if they don’t select me, that’s motivation.”
Here are the other players who are confirmed to attend the 2025 NFL draft with Carter.
