Two seeds Duke women’s basketball advanced to the program’s second consecutive Sweet Sixteen after defeating an upset-hungry 10-seed Oregon Ducks team 59-53 in the Round of 32. In front of the Blue Devil supporters, the Blue Devils won at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Toby Fournier, Duke’s top scorer, “wasn’t feeling well” and wasn’t allowed to play by team physicians, thus the squad was without him.

Early on, the Blue Devils struggled without Fournier as the tenacious Ducks team took a 12-9 lead at the end of the opening quarter and a 28-23 edge at the half.
In the second half, Ashlon Jackson then comes on. The junior scored 20 points on 7-of-17 field goals in the second half after being held scoreless in the first.
Following Jackson’s performance that ultimately resulted in the Blue Devils’ triumph, her performance sparked reactions from supporters on social media.
