Sandro Tonali has only been a Newcastle player for a very short period of time, but he’s already on the way to becoming a cult hero on Tyneside.
The Italy international’s debut saw him score within six minutes and produce a stunning display in a 5-1 win over Aston Villa that soon got Toon fans singing about their new midfield maestro.
The 23-year-old’s status among the Newcastle fanbase increased further when he was spotted in a Wetherspoons as opposed to a fancy restaurant.
There had been speculation that Tonali didn’t actually want to join Eddie Howe‘s men from AC Milan after several pictures of him not smiling led to some strange talk.
But he has dispelled all those myths and appears to be fully embracing life on Tyneside, and if he keeps performing the way he has been, Newcastle supporters might have just found themselves a new hero.
