Breaking: The Florida Gators Get a Startling Update on Walter Clayton Jr.’s Decision No One Foresaw It Coming
This week marked the start of collegiate basketball’s best season as the 2025 NCAA Tournament got underway. It’s one of the greatest three weeks in sports history, filled with everything from mid-major shocks to championship drives by blue blood schools.
The Florida Gators, who secured the top seed in the West, are one club hoping to have a lengthy March Madness run. In the opening round of their tournament, the Gators take on Norfolk State, ranked 16th.

He is the tallest collegiate basketball player in the nation right now. Let’s study up on Rioux, his journey to Florida, and other topics.

What is Olivier Rioux’s height?
Rioux weighs 305 pounds and is 7′ 9″. He was rated as a three-star talent by 247Sports and signed with Florida’s 2024 class after graduating from IMG Academy.
Sean McAloon, Rioux’s IMG head coach, told The Gainesville Sun that Rioux “can alter around the rim.” “I mean once you get in the paint, it’s a different world, we have a kid on our team that’s about 6-7, 6-8 when we go up against other people he goes up and he punches the ball at the rim, and on Oli he has to think about it, and so do the guards.”
Rioux is so tall that following his victory in the SEC Tournament last week, he didn’t even use a ladder to chop down the nets:
