For the 2025 season, the Green Bay Packers have more over $40 million in cap room.
This allows them to recruit fresh talent from the open market while keeping certain important players. Since several other clubs are vying for the same player, it is not always feasible to obtain the best player available at a position.
But it doesn’t mean you can’t bring in talent to make an instant difference if you can’t sign the top applicant for a position.
The Packers can advance with the aid of these five realistic free agents.
One of these reasonably priced free agency moves would allow the Packers to advance. Cornerback Asante Samuel Jr., CB During his four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Asante Samuel Jr. has been a reliable member of the defense. He only played four games in 2024 before missing the remainder of the season due to a stinger.
Samuel, who is only 25 years old, has 47 career starts as a starting cornerback. During that time, Samuel has recorded 37 pass breakups and six interceptions. He would immediately contend for and probably win a starting position in a limited cornerback room.
With Eric Stokes expected to reach the open market and standout corner Jaire Alexander’s future uncertain, cornerback is undoubtedly a topic of conversation for the Packers. The Packers’ secondary would greatly benefit from Samuel’s PFF coverage grade over 75 in 2022 and 2023, despite the fact that he is a smaller player and occasionally problems with open-field tackling.
2. C. Ryan Kelly
Along that offensive line, Ryan Kelly, a former Indianapolis Colt, has earned a lot of respect. It appears like Kelly’s time with the Colts is coming to an end after a 2024 season marred by several injuries.

3. Edge and Khalil Mack
Early in the 2024 season, it was clear that the Packers needed another pass rusher. Coincidentally, All-Pro Khalil Mack could be available for purchase this year.
It is impossible to overlook the fact that Mack was nearly traded to the Packers in 2018 before being transferred to the Chicago Bears. It’s evident that Mack is well-liked by many in high places with the Packers, especially general manager Brian Gutekunst, who appreciates the prospect of working in a stable system.
