BREAKING NEWS: LSU Tigers Now Reach In A Mutual Agreement To Part Ways With Top Quarterback After

Currently in their offseason, college football clubs across are trying to outperform their past campaigns. The LSU Tigers are one squad hoping to have a big impact in 2025. With a 9–4 record at the end of the previous season, the Tigers had their lowest showing in head coach Brian Kelly’s three seasons. But thanks in large part to quarterback Garrett Nussmeier’s comeback, there is hope for the next season. Last season, Nussmeier had a stellar season, completing 64.2% of his passes for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. On “The Paul Finebaum Show,” Paul Finebaum, an analyst for the SEC Network, discussed LSU’s chances for the next campaign. Although he admitted that Nussmeier was occasionally unreliable the previous season, he was optimistic that things would turn out well for him this year.

Finebaum stated, “I think his first year was erratic at times,” “What I’m really encouraged by is the expectations for this year are literally through the roof.” Turnovers have been Nussmeier’s worst problem, particularly in pivotal games. LSU was 1-2 in those games after he threw nine interceptions in four games, three of which were against the Ole Miss Rebels, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas A&M Aggies. He did, however, play some of his greatest games at the end of the season. Nussmeier completed 67.8% of his throws for 1,182 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception in his final four games. Finebaum thinks the Tigers might become a strong team in 2025 if he can continue to play at this level.
