Dylan Carlson, a 26-year-old outfielder, has agreed to a one-year contract worth $975,000 with the Orioles. Carlson was chosen in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. Given that the Orioles already have O’Neill, Cedric Mullins, and Colton Cowser in their outfield, along with Heston Kjerstad, he will probably battle for a bench position.
In 2021, Carlson hit 18 home runs, had 3.1 WAR,.780 OPS, and 115 OPS+, which helped him finish third in the National League Rookie of the Year voting.
