Despite fierce interest from rival Championship team West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City is certain they will be able to hold onto Lewis Koumas, who is currently on loan from Liverpool, for the remainder of the season.
Despite the Potters’ difficulties, Koumas has been a vital member of the first squad while on a season-long loan at the bet365 Stadium.
He has participated in 25 of Stoke’s 26 Championship games and contributed four goals.
The player’s performances in a Stoke shirt have pleased West Brom, who are now led by interim manager Chris Brunt at Hawthorns.
They are interested in the youngster and want to persuade Liverpool to shorten Koumas’ loan at Stoke so they may pursue him.
Stoke, meanwhile, are not keen to lose Koumas as they attempt to bounce back after a lackluster start to the season.
According to Darren Witcoop, they are still certain that they can hold onto the player through the conclusion of the season.
However, with striker Tom Cannon, who is currently on loan from Leicester City and is desired by several Championship teams, the situation may be different.
If the price was right, the Foxes would sell.
