The Las Vegas Raiders have experienced a rocky start to their 2024 season. They began with a narrow loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, followed by a significant victory against the Baltimore Ravens on the road. However, they faced a heartbreaking defeat to the winless Carolina Panthers in Week 3.
After that loss, head coach Antonio Pierce commented that “some of his players were making business decisions, so he’ll make some business decisions as well.” Star wide receiver Davante Adams appeared to respond directly to those remarks.
According to a September 23 post by Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the Raiders plan to keep Minshew as the starter for Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.Wide receiver Davante Adams, eager for the team to score points, believes maintaining Minshew as the starter is the right choice.
“You don’t want your quarterback feeling anxious because what message does that send to Aidan [O’Connell] if they replace Gardner after just three weeks?” Adams said on the September 24 episode of “Up & Adams.”
“It creates insecurity… it’s like being in a relationship where your partner feels like they could be replaced at any moment. That’s not a secure feeling.
“If she thinks she might get dumped, you’re not going to get the best from her. I don’t think that’s the mindset we want as a team.”
