The game didn’t begin the way Chicago Bears fans had hoped, but as the saying goes, it’s not about how you start, but how you finish. The Bears managed to turn things around and defeat the Tennessee Titans 24-17.
Caleb Williams showed some rookie tendencies with a few hurried and off-target passes, but the real highlight was the Titans’ defensive line—until Chicago’s special teams and defense made critical plays.
While it was a rough win, the Bears kick off the season with a 1-0 record.

It was a win that was both beautiful and ugly. It was beautiful because it was a game they were “supposed” to win, and they managed to pull it off. However, it was also ugly due to the rookie quarterback’s performance—lots of poor throws, unnecessary sacks, delay of game penalties, and miscommunications with receivers.
The offensive line was shaky, there were penalties, and overall, the offense didn’t seem prepared. The defense and special teams stepped up to secure the victory, as many expected they would until the offense can get itself together. Being 1-0 with these issues to fix is far better than being 0-1 after a game they were supposed to win. Williams, the offense, and the coaches have a lot to work on this week because Houston is a strong team. But the key to building a winning streak is to start with a win, and they’ve done that.
