Sad News: Baltimore Orioles Pitcher Suffers Severe Injury During Match, More On His Predicament.

Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer exited Saturday night’s game in Colorado after being hit by a line drive in the fourth inning.

Kremer was struck on his right forearm, just below his wrist, by a liner up the middle off Jordan Beck’s four-seam fastball. Shortstop Gunnar Henderson caught the ball and then threw it to second base for a forceout.

Kremer was evaluated by team trainers before being substituted by Keegan Akin. The 28-year-old right-hander was diagnosed with a contusion on his right forearm, but X-rays revealed no fractures.Kremer gave up four runs and six hits over 3 1/3 innings, marking his briefest start of the season.

The Orioles also faced a setback in the seventh inning when Ramón Urías was injured. The third baseman collapsed while covering the base during Ezequiel Tovar’s feet-first steal attempt.

Despite no obvious contact with Tovar, Urías was assessed by a team trainer and limped back to the dugout. Emmanuel Rivera took over in his place.
