Just In: Steph Curry Removes Unfollows Warriors From His Social Media Plat forms, See Reasons.

Star point guard Stephen Curry nearly caused Golden State Warriors fans some panic when he changed his Instagram bio from listing the team’s name to simply “Olympic gold medalist” nearly two weeks ago. However, any concerns were quickly put to rest after Curry signed a one-year, $62.6 million extension on Thursday, ensuring he’ll stay with the Warriors through the 2025-27 NBA season. Emily Chang highlighted the peculiar timing of Curry’s social media update in a 26-second teaser for her new “The Circuit” episode, noting that his wife, Ayesha, seemed unaware of the situation. Curry, responding with a grin, joked that he was just “proud to be an Olympian,” though Chang didn’t seem convinced.

“Good news @Warriors fans, @StephenCurry30 just signed a one-year extension. But when I saw him this week, he said the plan is to stay forever!! PS. Super fun episode of The Circuit coming with Steph and @ayeshacurry #dubnation” — Emily Chang (@emilychangtv) August 30, 2024

After the Instagram update, speculation swirled that Curry might be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers to join LeBron James, his USA teammate and fellow gold medalist from the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, there was no substance to those rumors. With Klay Thompson moving to the Dallas Mavericks, the Warriors’ championship aspirations are currently on hold. Nevertheless, keeping Curry is crucial as he will mentor younger players like Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and Trayce Jackson-Davis as the team builds a new foundation.
