During a recent Premier League match against Chelsea, Forest fans voiced their support for the City Ground, expressing discontent with the suggested alternative site in Toton. However, the club is contemplating a relocation due to unresolved issues with the council regarding rent and lease terms. This potential move would require Forest to abandon their previous plans to revamp the City Ground and expand its capacity, initially announced in 2019.
Chairman Tom Cartledge indicated ongoing assessments of various alternative locations, including Toton, emphasizing the need for thorough evaluation. Meanwhile, club owner Marinakis hinted at ambitious plans for Forest, mentioning aspirations for a “big stadium” and a new training center in an interview with BBC Sport.
