Aston Villa is rumored to be eyeing a potential transfer move for Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare. According to reports from The Sun, West Ham United is also showing interest in O’Hare, along with Hull City’s Jacob Greaves.
However, it’s not just West Ham; other Premier League clubs like Villa, Fulham, and Southampton are also keen on securing O’Hare’s services. His recent standout performance, including scoring in the FA Cup final against Manchester United, has garnered significant attention. Despite being offered a new contract by Coventry City, O’Hare has yet to commit, indicating that he is keeping his options open. With Coventry City unable to secure a playoff spot and facing another season in the Championship, the timing might be crucial for O’Hare to consider a move to a higher division.
This season, O’Hare has played in 34 games across all competitions, showing impressive form after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He has contributed 10 goals and four assists, with four of those goals coming during Coventry’s run to the semi-finals. O’Hare has been a stalwart at Coventry for the past five seasons, making 180 appearances, primarily in the Championship, where he has featured 135 times.
Beginning his career at Aston Villa at the age of seven, O’Hare spent several years with the club before departing in 2020. Despite making a limited number of appearances for Villa, he remains close friends with Jack Grealish, having risen through the ranks together. In a May 2021 interview with BirminghamLive, O’Hare expressed confidence in his decision to return to Coventry, citing the support of fans, teammates, and coaches as key factors in his choice to rejoin the club after his loan spell.
