MANCHESTER UNITED COULD OPEN DOOR FOR CELTIC TO SIGN A ‘WORLD-CLASS’ £7.5M ACE

Hardly a transfer window passes without the coveted player drawing interest from various British clubs. Premier League powerhouses Liverpool and Newcastle United were reportedly eyeing him when he led his team to league victory in 2022. Currently, Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic are also considering the title-winning captain, especially as Joe Hart’s impending retirement leaves them in need of a new goalkeeper. Who is Altay Bayindir? Man United goalkeeper makes debut ...

Identified as a potential successor to Hart, the player in question, Cakir, is renowned for his ability to perform under pressure, having captained Trabzonspor to their first Super Lig title in 38 years. Regarded as a ‘world-class talent’ in Turkey, Cakir, at 28, is considered to be entering his prime and could be available for around £7.5 million, though still a substantial sum for any club, even one as financially robust as Celtic.

Despite being under contract until 2027, it seems Trabzonspor are open to his departure, with reports suggesting they’ve already made plans for his replacement, Altay Bayindir. Bayindir, who recently joined Manchester United, may be looking for opportunities elsewhere after limited game time, potentially opening the door for Celtic.

In addition to Cakir, Celtic have been linked with other goalkeepers like Will Dennis from Bournemouth and Michael Zetterer from Werder Bremen. However, Cakir’s proven track record of winning trophies and potentially lower cost compared to other options make him an attractive prospect for the Scottish club.

Commenting on Cakir’s abilities, Trabzonspor hero Ali Kemal Denizci emphasized his world-class status and suggested that his market value should be around $50 million, indicating the high regard in which he’s held.
