Redevelopment works at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s stadium could be impacted after a construction firm filed for administration
Birmingham City are set to hold emergency meetings after the construction firm behind redevelopment works at St Andrew’s stadium ceased trading.
Buckingham Group, which was contracted to complete the redevlopment of the Tilton and Kop stands, has made the club aware that it has filed for a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
Parts of both stands have been closed to supporters for the last couple of years while the club worked on stadium repairs.
The club had hoped for the lower tier Tilton to open by the end of September and for the Kop to be fully open by the end of November, but says it will hold emergency meetings to assess the potential impact of the firm’s collapse on its planned opening dates.
In a statement, the club has said board members will hold emergency meetings over the next steps.
