Unsurprisingly, the 2003 Naismith Player of the Year and the pivotal figure in the most recent Texas team to reach the Final Four garnered nearly half of the votes in this week’s survey.

T.J. Ford emerged as the top choice, with Kevin Durant closely trailing at 30%. Durant’s tenure in Austin was brief, spanning only one year, but he also claimed the Naismith Award in 2007.

In response to another question, Longhorn fans were asked if they would like to see Texas compete against Kansas in the future, following this season. An overwhelming 82% of survey participants expressed their desire for the two schools to schedule games post-Texas’ transition to the SEC.
