“Shocking Revelation: You Won’t Believe What’s Really Lacking in Baltimore’s Offensive Line – Except for Tyler Linderbaum!”

In 2023, Lamar Jackson clinched his second MVP award, largely attributed to a dependable offensive line that fueled the league’s leading rushing offense. The question now looms: Can Baltimore maintain the cohesion of this crucial unit for the upcoming season?

Even if Baltimore secures re-signings for pending free agents Kevin Zeitler and John Simpson, Yahoo Sports expresses skepticism about the Ravens’ offensive line prospects as they approach free agency and the upcoming season. According to Yahoo Sports, aside from Tyler Linderbaum, the Ravens lack substantial depth in their offensive line lineup. With Kevin Zeitler’s free agency status and Ronnie Stanley potentially facing a release, the Ravens face the urgent task of reconstructing this vital unit. Linderbaum, a first-round center from Iowa in 2022, has proven himself with his inaugural Pro Bowl appearance and consistent high grades from Pro Football Focus over the past two seasons. He stands out as a cornerstone amidst an aging offensive line, signaling the need for infusion of younger talent.

Yahoo Sports also identified left tackle Ronnie Stanley and right tackle Morgan Moses as potential candidates for release. Should Baltimore decide to part ways with Stanley and Moses, alongside not re-signing Zeitler or Simpson, it would result in Tyler Linderbaum being the sole returning starter on the offensive line from the previous season. Yahoo Sports highlights Stanley’s decline in performance due to injuries, noting that releasing him, particularly as a post-June 1 cut, would provide significant salary cap relief, freeing up $8.3 million. Additionally, players like Tyus Bowser and Morgan Moses could be cut without imposing substantial dead cap penalties for the Ravens.

Baltimore demonstrated versatility in managing left tackle absence by deploying Patrick Mekari during Ronnie Stanley’s four-game hiatus. Additionally, Daniel Faalele, a second-year offensive lineman, shared snaps with Moses at right tackle toward the end of the season, showcasing the Ravens’ depth and competence at both tackle positions.
