Now, as he steps into the role of head coach for the Tennessee Titans and assumes play-calling duties for the first time, he aspires for second-year quarterback Will Levis to emulate the success of players like Peyton Manning, Matthew Stafford, or Joe Burrow.

During his introductory press conference, Callahan expressed his excitement about leading an offense that features Levis, a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Callahan praised Levis, noting his growth and impressive skills demonstrated during the previous season. Levis, who started in nine games in 2023, secured three wins, completing 58.4 percent of his passes for 1,808 yards, with eight touchdown passes and four interceptions.

Callahan, who had served as the offensive coordinator for the Bengals since 2019, emphasized that working collaboratively has been a key aspect of his coaching style. Despite this being his first time with full control of an offense, he feels confident in the transition, citing a collaborative approach that involves bringing in talented individuals to support him.

Addressing his connection with Titans general manager Ran Carthon, Callahan mentioned an “instant connection” and a mutual desire for the partnership. Describing the meeting as incredible, he expressed his belief that the Titans would be a place he could call home. With experience in coaching roles for teams such as Denver, Detroit, and Oakland before his tenure in Cincinnati, Callahan feels optimistic about the potential success and synergy with the Titans.
