Manchester United has shown a significant level of interest in Gleison Bremer, the defender from Juventus.

Manchester United is expressing a keen interest in acquiring Juventus center-back Gleison Bremer, as indicated by Gianluca Di Marzio. However, due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, the Red Devils are currently unable to make immediate signings, and they plan to wait until the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano on X: "Gleison Bremer to Juventus, here we go! Full agreement now in place with all parties, final bid accepted today by Torino and player side - after the bidding

Securing a new center-back is of utmost importance for Manchester United’s leadership, particularly with the likelihood of Raphael Varane departing on a free transfer when his contract expires in June. Di Marzio, speaking on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk, disclosed that the club has been closely monitoring Gleison Bremer for several months and is strongly considering making a move for the Brazilian center-back during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Bremer, who has emerged as one of the top central defenders in Serie A, has been delivering impressive performances for Juventus this season. With notable statistics such as 1.5 tackles and five duels won per Serie A game, along with more than four clearances, the 26-year-old’s prowess has attracted significant attention. However, it’s noted that Juventus may demand a premium fee for Bremer’s potential departure.

In addition to his defensive capabilities, the former Torino player has consistently averaged 5.2 ball recoveries per match, making him a formidable force for opposing strikers. His robust physicality and commanding aerial presence in the box have proven to be a challenge for opponents.

Acquiring Gleison Bremer may require Manchester United to pay a premium fee, especially considering that he recently committed to a new long-term contract with Juventus just last month, keeping him tied to the club until June 2028. Despite the financial commitment, Juventus, currently leading Serie A after three less successful campaigns, is determined to retain their prized assets.

While Bremer is valued at €50 million, it wouldn’t be surprising if Juventus insists on a higher fee, potentially reaching as much as €70 million, for his departure. The club seems intent on safeguarding the player’s services amidst his growing prominence in the team.
