2 Lions key players will miss final prep for Bucs, including star man

ALLEN PARK — The only players missing from the Detroit Lions’ final practice of the week were punt returner Kalif Raymond and backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. The team is extremely healthy going into their divisional-round playoff matchup against Tampa Bay.

Due to personal reasons, Bridgewater was also excused from practice last week. Now, as the Lions prepare for Tampa Bay, he is out once more. Although the specific cause of the situation is unknown, Jared Goff has not missed a play this season owing to an injury. Just three snaps have Bridgewater played, all of which resulted in kneeling to end a blowout loss to Carolina on October 8.2 Lions players, including star guy, will miss the last preparation for the Bucs.

But after the season, his presence will be missed since he has been a huge impact in the locker room, especially for younger players like second-year receiver Jameson Williams and rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker. It is anticipated that he will retire following Detroit’s playoff run.

Although head coach Dan Campbell voiced optimism that Raymond could be able to return against Tampa Bay, Raymond hasn’t practiced since sustaining a knee injury in the regular-season finale against Minnesota. Today at 4 PM, game designations are required.

The backup punt returner, Donovan Peoples-Jones, gained four yards on his lone effort last weekend against the Los Angeles Rams.
