Club agrees for bids as West Ham wants £6m for exceptional player| Reports..

Celtic are looking for a price “well in excess” of the £6 million they paid for Cameron Carter-Vickers, despite interest from West Ham, according to the Daily Record.

According to the Scottish outlet’s web version on Tuesday (16 January), West Ham has joined Premier League rivals Brentford and Nottingham Forest in displaying interest in the defender.

Carter-Vickers, who joined Celtic from Tottenham on a four-year contract in June 2022 following a season on loan, has made exactly 100 appearances for the Scottish club.

According to the Daily Record, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Brentford are all interested in Cameron Carter-Vickers. The Premier League trio has kept a close eye on the Celtic defender this season.

“And while it would take a bid well in excess of the initial £6million the Hoops paid Tottenham to prise him away from Glasgow, the Parkhead hierarchy are bracing themselves for offers arriving.”

Question marks.

This is an intriguing development from West Ham’s standpoint. The Irons are already well-stocked at centre-back after signing Konstantinos Mavropanos last summer.

Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna, and Nayef Aguerd are also on the Hammers’ roster, giving David Moyes plenty of choices right now.

However, questions over Aguerd’s future persist, and it is possible that new interest in the Morocco international will emerge later this year.

Ogbonna, now 35, is nearing the conclusion of his West Ham career.

That could explain why Carter-Vickers – a centre-back who has played in Europe for Celtic – is being considered.

The 26-year-old had a difficult time in his previous stay in English football, failing to make a single league appearance for Spurs, but it has been two-and-a-half years.

This transfer should not be completely avoided for what appears to be a decent amount.
