Michael Beale responds to West Ham transfer interest in Sunderland star..

Sunderland head coach Michael Beale has stated that any offer for in-demand winger Jack Clarke in January would be unacceptable.

According to Standard Sport, the 23-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur starlet is garnering a lot of attention following a successful season on Wearside.

West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Brentford are among at least five Premier League clubs considering a move for Clarke, who has already scored 12 Championship goals this season.

The Black Cats want to keep their star player for the rest of the season, but a bid of more than £20 million is expected to demand serious consideration.

“When you do what he does every week at the top end of the Championship, there will be speculation,” Beale remarked when questioned about the interest.

“I want it for my guys; I want them to succeed.

“I haven’t heard of any inquiries coming directly into the club for him, and I’d be lying if I claimed they were welcome.

“We want Jack to be here, playing for a great Sunderland club and learning about our plans for the season.

“I’ve been super impressed by him.”
