Verified: Wolves ‘interested in’ Birmingham City’s favourite following Matt Hobbs’ transfer admission…

The most recent Wolves transfer news after Matt Hobbs acknowledged the club is seeking for a new striker in the January transfer window, with Danny Ings and Hugo Ekitike also connected.

Che Adams, a former Birmingham City player, is reportedly interested in joining Wolves again.

According to Sky Sports News, Wolves are one of three Premier League clubs interested in the Southampton striker as they seek front-line reinforcements.

Wolves have not only let Sasa Kaladjic and Fabio Silva to depart on loan, but they are also missing Hwang Hee Chan, who is competing in the Asian Cup with South Korea. This has left Gary O’Neil with little options for strikers, and Adams’ name has come up again.

According to the report, Southampton is considering selling Adams this month or letting his contract expire in the summer and risk losing him for nothing.

The Wolves are also interested in Danny Ings, and according to SSN, Hugo Ekitike of PSG is also being considered. There is no information on whether other Premier League clubs are interested in a player who established his reputation at Blues.

The striker appeared to have missed the professional boat when he was released by Coventry City as a kid, but he made such an impression in non-league football that Sheffield United offered him a chance. He made improvement at Bramall Lane, but his career took off under Garry Monk at the Blues.

He became the first player in decades to score 20 or more league goals, earning a £15 million move to then-Premier League club Southampton.

This season, Russell Martin has rotated Adams in the Championship, although he has six league goals in 22 games and has established himself as a Scotland international.
