Tracking move to sign new “game changer” in £40 million plus transfer for Newcastle

The powerful star has been scouted by the Magpies.

Newcastle United sent scouts to witness the unquestionable “game-changer” in action for his present team and is interested in finalizing the signing.News about transfers from Newcastle.

St. James’ Park may have a busy January, but they will need to exercise caution to stay within the bounds of Financial Fair Play. In recent weeks, Kalvin Phillips has undoubtedly been connected to more moves than any other player; a loan swap would benefit the Magpies, the player, and his current team, Manchester City.

Eddie Howe has found an intriguing possibility in highly-rated Sporting CP center-back Goncalo Inacio, and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is reportedly another target in defense.

After a breakout season that saw him soar for VfB Stuttgart, Serhou Guirassy is apparently aiming to improve Newcastle’s attack as well. However, another offensive gem is also being tipped to make a transfer to St. James’.

Tracking Viktor Gyokeres in Newcastle

An update from HITC states that after sending delegates to observe Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres play for the Portuguese powerhouses, Newcastle and its owners, PIF, are interested in signing him. The Magpies are aware of the amount required to sign him because his contract includes a £42 million release clause.

The source goes on to add that while the Reds were there to watch Inacio, the Magpies were interested in Gyokeres. “Both Liverpool and Newcastle United were present at Sporting Lisbon’s dominant 5-1 win over Estoril over the weekend, with both having separate priorities,” the report continues.

The Swedish striker is incredibly talented; he moved from Coventry City to Sporting in the summer after an incredible season in which he scored 21 goals in the Championship. He has carried that form into Europe, scoring three goals in five Europa League games and eleven goals in 15 Primeira Liga games played so far in 2023–2024.

Alexander Isak’s career at Newcastle has been marred by injuries, and Callum Wilson is not getting any younger. The Swede might be a terrific addition, and it would help that he is already familiar with English games. Statman Dave called him a “game-changer,” while Tony Mowbray even made the comparison to Erling Haaland, saying:

“Who is like him in the Premier League right now? I don’t want to say he should test himself there. You could argue that Haaland is one of those guys who is too large, too strong, and too quick. However, Gyokeres appears to be much quicker and more powerful than the men he faces in the championship in this league.”

Gyokeres, who is 25 years old, is still a reasonably young player whose prime years may come soon. He has the potential to be a productive player for Newcastle for a very long time, giving Isak competition and possibly serving as a strike partner as well.
