As it became apparent that Tlo Kehrerhi would probably be spending the second half of this season somewhere other than West Ham, he was connected to several clubs over the Christmas break.
Since David Moyes hasn’t been able to provide the defender with the playing time and attention he wants, as well as support his ongoing development and possibly help him find a new long-term home, a January transfer seemed like the best course of action.
The player was connected to several clubs in Germany and Italy, but on Tuesday, it was announced in France that AS Monaco would be his new home for the remainder of the current season.
Things are going swiftly; according to Wednesday’s issue of L’Equipe, the Hammers star should be in the French principality club “in the coming hours” to finalize his transfer.
With a €11 million buyout option, Monaco will loan €500k to West Ham, and Kehrer is anticipated to undergo his medical examination at some point today.
