Breaking news: Milan’s top star heading for sale with potential replacement identified

Rade Krunic might leave the team in the January transfer window as he appears to have slid to the bottom of Stefano Pioli’s midfield hierarchy.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Milan management informed Krunic’s entourage that a reasonable offer had to come in before they would oppose the sale of the player, who Pioli is utilizing less and less.

Fenerbahçe has been pursuing him for some time and offered him a rather hefty salary (€3.5 million net per season) in the summer to entice him. The Turkish team is now prepared to make another attempt, but they will need to reach a transfer fee deal with Milan.

Fenerbahce’s low offer prevented the operation from moving forward in the summer. In other words, although Rossoneri initiated negotiations to extend his contract, which ends in 2025, Krunic’s pay demands were thought to be excessive.

Should there be a sale, a fresh signing will be required. Hamed Traoré’s name has surfaced again because Milan will be without Tommaso Pobega for a few months and Ismael Bennacer is traveling to the African Cup of Nations in January.

He is a midfield player who was formerly with Sassuolo and is currently with Bournemouth. Milan was quite interested in him when he was in Serie A, but Napoli is vying for his services.

With the Neroverdi, the Ivorian was mostly deployed as a winger or playmaker, although he has subsequently been utilized as a box-to-box midfielder as well.
