Weston McKennie sends new message as Leeds United transfer news emerges
Former Leeds United midfielder Weston McKennie has sent forward Jack Harrison a message on social media following his return to the Premier League.
Taking to Instagram (16 August), Harrison posted himself in full Everton kit, pointing at the badge and claiming he couldn’t wait to get started at his new club.
His former teammate McKennie offered his support with a brief comment on his post after the pair shared last season at Leeds.
Leeds no more
While neither Harrison nor McKennie is at Leeds United anymore, they clearly must have formed a friendship during their time at Elland Road.
However, neither player will be in Leeds fans’ good books. Harrison’s move to Everton sparked some outrage and annoyance from the fanbase who are becoming more and more frustrated by the mass exodus of their top talent.
McKennie caused mass anger when, as reported by the Daily Mail (29 May), he seemed to take the train away from Leeds the same day the club’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.
The USMNT star did not have the best season with Leeds in the last campaign, so his departure would not have been a massive loss in the eyes of fans.
However, while McKennie is unlikely to don the white of Leeds again, Harrison’s move to the Toffees is only a season-long loan, meaning he could grace the fired of Elland Road once again, so Leeds fans may want to criticise him with caution.
In other Leeds United news, the price tag for wantaway star Luis Sinisterra has been revealed.
